While with Dr Steadman, the originator of the popular “microfracture” cartilage treatment technique, Kelly Cunningham, MD developed a strong interest in the care of cartilage injuries. He now has more than twenty years of experience with surgical microfracture and related procedures and, in recent years, has been closely monitoring cutting-edge techniques as they are developed for use in these acute and chronic problems.
Ortho + Biologic , treatments are increasingly appropriate for a growing segment of Kelly Cunningham, MD’s sports medicine patients. He is at the forefront of these trends, having served as a medical consultant for two sports medicine companies in product development and use.
Kelly Cunningham, MD and the Austin Orthobiologics team works with each athlete to develop an individual treatment plan that emphasizes the least invasive treatments possible with the goal of minimal recuperation and down-time. He combines rigorous standards and quality of care with experience and insight, integrating the best new techniques into the care of each patient.
