Dr. Cunningham Attends Vail Scientific Summit 2016

In August, Kelly Cunningham, MD, orthopedic surgeon and founder of Austin Ortho+Biologics, was invited to the 2nd annual summit of basic scientists, clinicians and researchers who convened in Colorado at the prestigous Steadman Phillipon Clinic in Vail, to discuss progress in the field of regenerative orthopedic & sports medicine.

This event, hosted by the Steadman Phillipon Research Institute (SPRI), was billed as “Engaging the Greatest Minds in Regenerative Medicine and Science” for a 3-day symposium to find common ground between clinical medicine uses of stem cell, PRP and biologic/cellular therapy and groundbreaking research in orthopedic science.

Over one hundred MD, PhD and DVD researchers and joint specialists from all over the US and world contributed to the discussion of tissue repair and regeneration techniques and studies.

The rapidly growing knowledge base of regenerative sports medicine will provide more and more surgical and non-surgical answers to conditions such as arthritis, joint pain, cartilage damage and muscle/tendon injuries in athletes of all ages and abilities.

Dr. Cunningham, as a former Steadman Sports Medicine Fellow and with 25 years of experience in orthopedic and sports medicine care of Austin patients, is honored to have been included in this select group of doctors dedicated to the advancement of this exciting specialty.
